The story of our church began in 1923, when the growing community of Ravenna, Kentucky, recognized the need for a place of worship. Representatives from several Baptist churches in the region—along with 23 charter members—gathered at the Jones Building on Main Street to establish a new congregation. Led by Rev. W.G. Potts as Moderator and Bro. A.C. Conway as Clerk, the church was officially organized as the First Baptist Church of Ravenna. The church adopted the Eighteen Articles of Faith of the Southern Baptist Convention and joined the Boone’s Creek Association.
